so, you all know how faded the paint on my Toyota was, as is common of every red toyota around that age. I recently bought a 10" Random Orbital polisher and some polishing compound, to take care of the Cabrio, but decided to give it a try on the pickup today. I know it's still a rusty POS, but i figured what the hell...

here are some before and afters...

a view of the reflections in the paint, before and after.. it's no mirror finish, but considering where it started i'm happy.

not that long, couple hours maybe. i did the hood twice, plus tight areas that the polishing pad misses by hand.

your S-10 has more scratches than haze, right? for scratch removal, you really need a buffer with a more aggressive compound, which is best left to the pros because that kind of stuff can quickly burn through the paint.

my truck just needs a paint job really. Lot's of scratches that you can see bare metal through, and there's surface rust starting on the rockers.

Better to redo it now than to wait for it to become worse.
