| Hey guys i just picked up a b2200... its carbed and im wondering if anyone has any ideas on why i am getting a misfire when running. I think this is also why my engine has some problems starting... I may be wrong. All Spark plugs and plug wires were replaced along with the Distributer cap and rotor. I will be checking the timing today... Any suggestion??? I think it could be a fueling problem... let me know what you guys think it could be.
Thanks in advance.. RJ | |

| make sure the wires arent crossed. i too would start also with checking your fuel filter. timing is a good place to start. did it start doing it after the tune up? | |

| there may be one in the line in the engine bay close to the fuel pump. or there may be one right out of the tank in the line this is where mine is. ive seen them both places. sometimes trucks have both of them | |

| 2200's are in the engine bay.. small white or semi clear bowl in between the supply line and the fuel pump. right side of vehicle. | |

| ^^ mine also has one coming right off of the tank.
check plug gap and also check this out...you can not run platinum plugs on a basic carbed eng. so if he installed platinums for any reason, change them out to regular old cheapy plugs. i run ngk plugs.
how long ago did he do the tune up and where did he buy the parts from? some parts stores quality of parts are really cheesey. i buy borg warner parts from oreilly auto parts because they are dang good parts and have a lifetime warranty. i will never have to buy new wires, cap, or rotor again. i just take them back and swap them out.
also, do you still have the stock carb. on it? if so there could be another problem right there. | |

| Im running cheap plugs now and vaccum leaks i need to check, but i cleaned out the carb made a world of a difference. All the Gets were removed and cleaned...Guys i cant believe it i cant even hear my engine inside the cab. I thought The engine shut off. Clean your carbs take them apart... Anyways i did the timing also today it is rite where it should be... Perfect. I have figured it is the spark also... so i will be changing the Cap and Rotor myself. | |

| perfect, take it to you local autoparts store and get them to put the computer on it and it will tell you what to fix. if it isn't a hard fault you can get rid of the light by disconnecting the battery for like 30 minutes. | |

| our trucks arent obd2 so you have no way of hooking it to a computer persay. you may be able to cross wires and have the check engine light blink showing trouble codes. look in the manual and shows the codes. how many miles does the truck have on it? like at 200k it will come on to remind you to service your smog. | |

| you'll have to jumper to read the code. Chk Engn will flash in a sequence to reveal the code.. refer to a haynes or chiltons manual unless you have access to a mazda service manual. | |
