Named this because the owner likes to drag his truck. A lot. And he has an obsession with stars. So a few will be incorporated during the build.

Heres the truck.

It doesn't show any signs of flex, but apparently it was rarely driven and just sat for the last couple years.

Its here for a backhalf, bodydrop and a tilt bed.

Come on Dev.....SOMEONE has to keep the scene ol' skool man.

Tilt beds are IMO, one of the lamest mods that can be done to a truck, right next to lambo doors. Obviously, to each his own though and it is his truck, so throw the tilt on there for him Seth.

Yeah I am definitely not a fan of tilt beds. But thats what he wants. I'm also really not a fan of shaving the entire bed shut and making it useless.

Who makes those super pivot rod ends you have pictured?

They look like they are worth the price?

Well I got all the steel today. Started building my welding table, will probably finish tomorrow, and then start teardown.

Got a new (to me) Craftsman box, Milwaukee chop saw, and built myself a small welding table.

Still waiting on parts before I start on the project. But I will be tearing into it tomorrow, after the house appraisers leave and I can make a mess again.

Thanks man.

All my 4-link parts have showed up now.
Project Drag Star 11943765550

And here are some stars I had cut out for the truck.
Project Drag Star 11943765561
The smaller stars are for the mitre joints on the backhalf.

Also, I had myself some gussets laser cut at the same time, to the tune of 25. I really like them.

Seth where do you get your 4 link parts?

I am just curious because they look like they are good quality.

I get most of my stuff from Ballistic Fabrication. They carry the best stuff, IMO. Some made in house, some not. Heims are QA1. The pivot joints they make are much nicer than the super pivots from Suicide Doors. They also articulate more, and are easier to take apart, service, etc. Really nice stuff. I like to use the best, when the budget allows it.

I removed the exhaust. It was pretty fuxored.
Project Drag Star 11947465580
I trimmed up the tube on the collector and cleaned it off so I can weld to it.
Project Drag Star 11947465591
It was "D" shaped, so I rounded it out with a hammer and my anvil.
Project Drag Star 11947465592
Project Drag Star 11947466800
Its not perfect, but I put it up against a spare piece of 2" tube and it fits well enough to weld.
Project Drag Star 11947466801
And got a high flow cat.
Project Drag Star 11947466802
Now I'm just waiting on the U-bends and the muffler.

Cut the floor a little tonight.
Project Drag Star 11948419710
And made new body mounts out back.
Project Drag Star 11948419711
Project Drag Star 11948419722
Project Drag Star 11948423480
They are spaced down 2.50", and yes they are melting. The bushings will be replaced. The mounts just need a little finish work and they are good to go.
