I REALLY HATE TO DO IT BUT...

THE 83 IS UP FOR SALE! I really don't want to sell it but it has to go. i am buying a 59 mercury monterey that is extremely rare so i have to get rid of one of the projects. look at my photobucket for pics or in my garage for pics. i will post up the most up to date pics that i have of it tomorrow. make me an offer. i will sell the 84 with it if the price is right. i may want to keep it to build later though.

here is the low down on it...

bagged with slam re6's in the front and firestones in the rear. 1/2" lines and valves. asco valves, 12 switches, fully shaved, harley davidson rear view mirrors, 50/50 4 link. one bar is bent but doesn't look very bad. the timing is off and i think it needs a head gasket, and the valve seals need to be replaced. i have new valve seals and a ton of extra parts. so really by changing the head gasket you can kill 3 birds with one stone (time it correctly, change the valve seals and the head gasket) and she will run like a champ. to many mods to really list.

i really love this truck but i didn't build it and that has really buged me since day one of owning it. she is a blast to drive and turns heads everywhere. she needs to be owned by someone that will take care of her and finish her. i don't have the time or funds to really get her going like i want to.

i cant believe you are selling it. i cant buy it but what are you wantin to get out of it just curious

2500 obo. is what i want.

2500 obo is what i am asking. it has a few issues but this engine is so easy to work on it wouldn't be that difficult. i bought it for about 2700 and then bought a parts truck for another 300. i pulled the entire wiring harness out of the parts truck and put it into this truck because the previous owner hacked it all up. now everything works like it is supossed to. i also pulled off the entire front end off of the parts truck and installed it onto this truck. i put on a new alternator, plugs, wires, battery, battery cables and i have a bunch of extra parts for it. here are the pics...

i forgot to add that i smoothed the dash and had it painted. the plastic was sprayed with bulldog plastic adhesion promoter and everything was primered and painted.

I love that shifter. I was trying to talk dev into something like that for his mini. Its reminds me of the old rat rods. BUMP for a really sweet truck.

with the love for this truck from everybody i dont see 2500 being too much. somebody will scoop it up in a hurry im sure

yeah i think 2500 is fair. someone could easily drop about 500 bucks into the engine and a new exhaust and have a killer daily with 30+ mpg. i have got about 3500 into it including what i paid for it.

well, i may not be selling the 83. i may be selling the 89 to the guy that was going to buy my 83. i am going to hate to see the 89 go but oh well, i have got a 90 in the garage getting built as we speak. well maybe not as we speak but at least it gets worked on like once a month. haha.

i dont think you will regret it.

i've got a lot more money in the 89 than in the 83 but the 86-93 models aren't as hard to gfind as the 83 and 84 models. the 89 is very reliable and the 83 isn't but i can fix that.

think with your head.

i dont figure you will regret it because the 86-93's are easy to find and the older ones are hard to find. i think your being smart by keeping the 83
