my rides

Hi, I just joined. I thought i'd post here first with pics of my rides instead of just a one-liner in the intro section.

first, here's my car, a 95 Golf GTI


looked like this for winter:


it's lowered about 1.5", summer wheels are OEM 15" from a passat syncro g60, they were canadian-only and somewhat rare (several hundred sets) - factory forged/polished aluminum, very light, strong and shiny. It's got a custom turbo setup, small turbo with SMIC and an EIC for fueling. Right now the car's off the road for a fairly major overhaul, I'm switching over to standalone engine management, got new motor mounts, new clutch, a front mount IC, contemplating some body work, and i've picked up some new wheels.

In the meantime, here's my daily driver, a 91 Toyota

that's the only pic i have of it. The paint is quite faded, but it's not in terrible condition. I need to give it a good buff & wax, it will come back, i've tested a patch. It's lowered with belltech leafs in the rear, torsions cranked down in the front and belltech nitro-drop shocks. I've got big 'someday' plans for the truck, but for now I can't do much with it since i drive it every day, and money's going to other things.

looks like a cool forum ya got here, i've been looking for a good mini-truck forum since i got the 'yota.

Just curious, what standalone you are going with. Megasquirt v2.2 is suppose to be very popular on vw builds. And last time I checked they are running ingnition too, so that its pretty sweet. And its cheap.

yeah, megasquirt is gaining in popularity for sure, and it does do ignition now as well, constantly evolving due to it's build it yourself, open source nature. I'm gonna be running an SDS setup, though. I've gone into a bit more detail in the euro section.
