| So here is my situation, I just got a new job offer that I took, and they know I am already employed at another job. I told them I would like to put in my two weeks notice and they said that is fine. But, I hate my present job with a passion. I don't want to put in my two weeks at all. But if i don't they will be screwed and have nobody to cover my position as manager. And I could possibly be screwed as well, because I may not be able to be rehired if something were to come up down the road. I just don't know what to do? I was always taught the 2 week notice, and the people I work with are great I just hate the workplace. What do you guys think? Dev | |

| put yourself in the company's position. i've always been taught to do the same.. besides if you just take off any return to that position is shot. I realize you hate it... but your peers will appreciate you more for giving a notice rather than just hanging them out. just my 2cents... you'll make the right decision for yourself and your company. | |

| I just got back from putting my two weeks in. It was a little awkward, but it worked out great! I was promised a job there anytime in the future, and they were more then happy to see me go somewhere where I will be making more and better myself. Woot-Woot Dev | |

| if you've got the time/opportunity to do so, it's good to give 2 weeks - i've left 2 jobs on no notice now, and i hate doing it, but one i just needed out of, the other, i was kinda forced (start monday or don't start). Always best to keep good contacts/references | |
