main relay?

does anyone know where the main relay is at in a 91 civic hatch because my hatch will not crank if the temps in the car are high. i was on another forum and they said that it is common with these cars the problem being the main relay. i need to pull it out and apart resolder all the wires and install. problem solved. hopefully this is what i need to do but cant find the main relay. any help would be greatly appreciated

would it not be in the main fuse box under the hood?
usually in a corner of the firewall.

no its supposedly somewhere under the dash beneath the steering wheel. several people from a honda forum have vouched for this but when it comes to posting pics and help locating they were no where to be found. start to help and then leave you hangin

i belive it's been a while since i was in the dash of a 91 hatch that it is a littel to the left behind the steering col.... not positive but have a buddy with a hatch same model will talk to him and see... hope this helped

I am sure that the starter relay is under the hood on the passenger side. My old girlfriend had a crx that I put a turbo zc engine in.

i know where the starter relay is. im looking for the main relay its under the dash somewhere. it allows for the ignition to work properly. giving it spark and what not

If it was my car I would just look for a ignition wiring scamadic (Sp) and go from there. Or just park on a hill and hope that works.

yeh see my problem is is when it gets really hot outside. the car wont crank. open up the door for a few minutes let the inside temps cool down a bit it will crank up. i've done alot of research andthis is very common problem being the main relay. i need to open it up and resolder all of the connections. im taking that the hot has melted something at some point in time. guess ill find out once i get in there.

did you get the car fixed yet?

its my dads car and he hasnt said anything about it lately. but i havent had time to look further into the problem

i have a 1991 hatch that i just got and i will be getting it dropped off to my house on fri. or sat. sooo if you still need i can see if i can find it and talk a pics with the digi and send it....let me know if you need it
