| posted this on the bscene too.may be a dumb question but i have no idea so.. i am in the process of body dropping the bed on my 83 mazda b2000 so that i can go ahead and finish the bed. i will raise it up sith spacers to keep it level with the cab when i am done. anyways here is the question... i am going to install a fuel cell under the floor that i am building, what i need to know is what kind of sender should i be looking for. i already have an external electric fuel pump but i don't know what kind of sender to match the gauge. i always hear 0-90 ohm senders or 90-0 ohm senders. what do i need? the cell i am wanting to buy includes a 0-90 ohm sender and is a 16 gal racing fuel cell. it is 170 bucks and is black plastic. here is a pic... let me know what i need to do. thanks guys. ryan | |

| You can call Summit, they will help you find the right one... if using an aftermarket gauge set. The sender you need will be according to the ohm rating of the gauge you are using.. Factory mazda gauge... I have no idea, and Summit may not be of help here either.. but you could still call and see. Another option is you could call your local Mazda and see if parts, or a tech could look up the ohm rating on the fuel gauge.. I am sure they will have this info, as they have to troubleshoot the gauge when a problem arises.
Good luck. | |

| I've got a RCI Fuel Cell with a GM Sender... I have some Equus Aftermarket Gauges that I use in my truck, and I used a GM Fuel Level Gauge It worked out well, but only because I used Aftermarket gauges.... Dev | |

| I used the factory sending unit in my ranger, Just built a 1/2 inch aluminum adapter that was circle center cut to match the outer ring of the sending unit. Then just tapped 25 bolt holes and some gas safe gasket maker, and it was done. I don't know if yours is designed the same way or not, but it's an idea. | |

was your stock tank and the fuel cell the same depth? that is a good idea. if i can get them the same depth that should work out nicely. thanks. thanks for all the help. i am keeping the stock gauges so i have to make sure i get the right style sender for the stock gauge or do like what alittlelow said to do. | |

| Both were 12 inches tall. but i put a larger pick up filter on the pump so it raised it 1/2 inch. The adapter plate on the bottom is fully tig welded, and the top adapter plate bolts to that which sandwhichs the sending unit/fuel pump to the tank. If you want one built custom made it'll take about 6 weeks. 16 gauge brushed alumimum with a beautiful tig weld. I'm not DOT approved so you'll have to sign a waiver. | |

| They've been building stock sending unit adapters for years for dirt track mustangs. To save money the bottom adapter plate can be bolted down with rivet nuts that are secured to the tank itself. I'll find you a part number after a while. Then secure the top and bottom adapter through to the existing bolt holes. The petrolium distalate proof glue is sold by fusor "lord" brand, and is used between each layer for added security. | |
